DESCRIPTION OF WHAT WE DO

Talking Trees Owners will work with your organization or corporation to plan the type of outdoor experience you are looking for in Southeastern Oklahoma.  The owners and advisors will assist you to the full extent you wish to plan for your group.  

The grounds are available to tourist or special groups with 2 hours reservation notice.


MANAGEMENT

Talking Trees Group Campground is managed by a partnership of professionals who have had a combined 50 years of administration experience.  The group has advanced training in recreation administration, marketing, finance, technology, corporate organization, staff development, and historical research.    Dr. Barbara J. Tyson has done research in the field of administration with experience in supervision, finance, planning, counseling, and sports management. V. Jean Harris is a systems administrator with training in the technology field as well as planning of facilities.

  MISSION STATEMENT

The mission and focus of Talking Trees Group Campground will be for people who are seeking outdoor recreation.  Talking Trees will create a setting that gives the opportunity for all people, young and old, from all backgrounds, to experience a dynamic and positive environment.  Talking Trees is a place where people can enjoy each other and build memories together.  Visitors will recommend the campground to friends because of the quality of service and friendships that are built at Talking Trees.   Outdoor recreation sites provide the rest that only can be found in the space provided by Mother Nature.


LOCATION OF BUSINESS

Talking Trees Group Campground is located in SE OK on Hwy 59/270 approximately 10 miles South of Heavener, OK.  The campgrounds have an easy access for all sizes of vehicles from the highway.  From Mena, AR, the campground is approximately 30 miles west on Hwy 59/270.  Coming from the south out of Broken Bow, OK take Hwy 259 to 59/270 and turn left.  Go 2 miles and look for the sign on the right.  Access from the east is from Poteau, OK to Heavener, OK on Hwy. 59/270.  From Hwy 128 that enters Heavener, OK from Eastern Arkansas turn right on Hwy 59/270 and travel south to Talking Trees Campgrounds.

KEY INNOVATIONS

This campground features a bathhouse with a hydrotherapy unit along with a massage therapy specialist as one of the chief attraction in the grounds.   The campground is located in the Choctaw Indian Tribal area.  Other value added services are planning and supervision provided to groups, transportation to trails, and space for large group meetings.    The staff is ready to help you with a successful outdoor recreation event, camping stay, or outdoor conference/retreat for corporate groups.
